Referring a client, answered
How is the referral fee set?
You propose your fee in the form. We put it in a written referral agreement between our brokerages, and both sides sign before I contact your client.
How is the referral fee paid?
Broker-to-broker, as Florida requires, under the terms of our signed referral agreement.
Will I know what is happening with my client?
Yes. I update you after the first conversation, when we go under contract, and when the deal closes, plus any time something important changes.
What kinds of clients can I send?
Residential buyers and sellers, luxury, investors, relocation, commercial buyers and sellers, and commercial leasing for tenants or landlords. I don't handle residential rentals or residential property management.
My client is outside Tampa Bay. Can you help?
For commercial clients, yes: I handle commercial sales and leasing anywhere in Florida. For residential clients, I personally cover Pinellas, Pasco, Hillsborough and Manatee counties. In other cities, I connect your client with a trusted agent in my referral network, so the client is still well served and the referral is documented.
Will you send clients back to me?
Yes. When my clients move to your market, or your client returns home, I refer them to you.
Have a client moving to Tampa Bay?
Share your license, brokerage and client details. Mathews prepares the referral agreement so you can both sign before he contacts your client.
